Mille Lacs Fall Fishing Report (Late October Smallmouth Bass, Walleye, and Muskie)

It's been a great fall! Water temps are creeping into the lower fifties.

The fall muskie bite is just getting started out here. Tullibee will be staging on the deep edges of rock reefs. Trolling with big crank baits on the transition is a popular technique at this time. Casting large swim baits such as pounder bull dawgs and shadzillas is the most popular technique.

The walleye bite has been excellent over the past couple of weeks. Night trolling stickbaits is productive under a full moon. During the day, jigs and minnows have been working excellent. Rocks or rock/weed combos have been good in 10'. An 1/8 oz jig tipped with a 3-4" minnow has been best.

Smallmouth continue to bite. We've had an excellent fall smallmouth bite this season. Swimbaits and tubes will be my go to presentations on deep rocks throughout the rest of the season.

Good Luck Fishing!
