This weeks Mille Lacs Lake fishing report will cover locations and techniques for mid-winter walleyes.
Walleye fishing remains good on the main lake, with some typical midwinter ups and downs. Deeper structures such as the mud flats and gravel bars are going to be the best option for daytime walleyes. Shallower structures such as the rocks are going to be a better option for low light and overnight fishing. Perfect for the permanent houses which are now getting out into the main lake.
Techniques remain the same as last week with rattle spoons and set lines being the best presentations.
Ice conditions are slowly improving, slush is still a minor issue. Most ice that I'm checking is anywhere from 14-18". Check with your local resort for current vehicle limits.
Good Luck Fishing!
